Economics has never been more real than today! – GCSE Economics 2022

This Term, our GCSE Year 10 students have begun their journey into the world of economics. Students have studied and investigated the concepts of production, capital, growth, supply and demand. Additionally, students have explored various economic formulas in PED, PES and Cost/Benefit Analysis. Our students have used their new found knowledge to research into our current climate with discussion around the mini-budget, Brexit, impact of supply-side policies and impact of war on the economy.

As for our experienced economist in Year 11, students have taken a closer look at the impact of government intervention into the market through understanding how GDP is measured, the impact of employment and unemployment affects society, taxation systems and the issues around wage differentials. Our students have been able to apply their learnings towards understanding fiscal policies and the impact deflation and inflation has on the UK economy.
