Cultural Awareness Week 2023

Eastbrook School will be hosting a series of activities to celebrate Cultural Awareness Week during w/b 20th March.

On Monday, 20th March, we particularly would encourage parents to permit their child(ren) to take in an item that represents his/her culture.  They will engage in showcasing their item to peers in a ‘Show n Tell‘ session during form time.

Please note the following items not permitted

– weapons
– Inflammatory symbols/comments
– anything that does not comfortably hold in a backpack.

Throughout the week, our lunchtime menu will still have the regular dishes but also include dishes from different cultures. Please see the additional dishes here.

On Friday 24th March, students will have the opportunity to dress in their cultural wear. It they do not have a traditional clothing, wearing replica of the national team or flag is permitted. Please encourage your child to wear their cultural clothing.

There will be awards for the best dress male and best dress female in each year!

Please give your child £1 which will go towards Eastbrook’s donation to the survivors of Turkey-Syria earthquake.  A full list of the week’s activities can be found here.

If you have any questions, please email office@eastbrookschool.org

We look forward to a week of learning and celebrating differences of cultures.
