An Art and Artist Encounter

As a winner of the 2022 Jack Petchey Award, budding art student Allegra Mihai in 8E chose to use her reward to take a group of students to a contemporary sculpture park, so that they can learn more about modern art. Ms Lambert kindly planned an exclusive trip for Allegra and other promising art students, to immerse themselves in the fashionable Frieze sculpture park exhibition in Regence Park, London.

Here’s an account of the day by Allegra:

I had a wonderful time on the sculpture trip. It was a great experience and I discovered many things, just like the others who came! We went as a small group which I enjoyed, as we all got along and have a shared interest in art. We also ended up meeting the artist Paul Harrison, who created some of the sculptures in the park, named ‘10 Signs for a Park’. We then draw our favourite sculptures and even made our own with wire. Overall, we liked this trip a lot and we hope to go on many more educational visits with the Visual Arts department. Thank you to Ms Lambert for organising it!
