This week Mr Pasterfield’s maths group has learned about algebraic expression.

The class used balancing scales and cubes to represent algebraic expressions.

On Friday children were give the challenge of solving this:

4x + 7 = 27

They used practical resources to approach the problem.

Mr Pasterfield was really impressed with the teamwork and maths thinking skills that were demonstrated.
