The children are beginning their unit of learning based on the events of 1666. The children became builders and collected their own materials that they would need for the thatched roofs of their houses. They then hand-cut the wooden beams that would be needed for the structure of the houses, as there wasn’t any machinery in 1666 to do this job. The children showed great teamwork as they worked in pairs to construct the houses.
