Teamwork in the Forest

Some pupils in years 3, 4 and 5 are taking part in weekly forest school sessions with Mrs. Fernandes. The sessions are designed to promote team work, co-operation and encourage pupils to solve practical problems. So far pupils have litter picked to improve the forest environment, planted wild flower seeds, constructed their own water proof shelters in small groups, errected a large group shelter, coppiced trees in the forest and learnt to light a fire with a flint and steel! The pupils have enjoyed their weekly sessions and look forward to lighting the fire themselves next week and using some more tools in the forest.
