Teamwork Is Dream Work

For their Virtues Day, the children in Reception spent their morning working together on Teamwork and Communication tasks. In the first task they had to wiggle their bodies through a hula hoop to get it round the circle without letting go of each other’s hands. The children encouraged each other kindly, even supporting when their friends had got a little stuck in the hoop. Then the children had a go at playing ‘Who has the keys?’, where they were blindfolded and had to guess where the keys had moved around the circle. This tested their listening and attention skills and forced them to work and communicate silently as a team.

In the afternoon the children worked together to produce a class piece of art. Fitting with their ‘Ocean Treasures’ topic, they watched a ‘how to draw’ video of a selection of sea creatures before setting off . They had to navigate their space and think of the needs of others while they were drawing. They shared their ideas and even collaborated on some designs, proving that teamwork is dream work!

The children also discussed Eastbrook’s five core virtues and have learnt actions to help remember them! We hope you enjoy our video.
