Diving into their Topic this week Reception had fun learning about the Moon Phases. They started their learning by observing the changes to the shape of the moon over the month cycle. They gained an understanding of its not the moon changing shape but the reflections from the light of the sun.

The best way to remember something is by adding jaffa cakes! The children could show a Full Moon by raising their whole jaffa cake, then a Half Moon by nibbling it in half, on to the Crescent Moon where they just left a slither of jaffa cake and finial the New Moon, where the jaffa cake had been completely eaten.

The children have really been enjoying this half terms Topic, they have been learning about Astronauts, their training and even trying some of their space food.
