With the focus in PSHE to overcome challenges, the children in Reception worked together to complete this tricky task. In small groups, they set the goal of making the tallest cup tower. They were able to identify the virtues they would have to use such as persistence and teamwork. With the discussion about persistence, they talked about how important it was to keep on trying and not get upset as it wouldn’t help them reach their goal.
It was great to see the children laughing and spurring each other on as they took turns placing the cups to build their towers. Even when they fell down the children were not disheartened and continued to stack the cups until the timer rang. They celebrated each other and as the winning team was announced, well done to Reception for not giving up!
