London’s Burning

The children have been focused on the Great Fire of London and today they learnt about how the fire spread and what consequences this had. The children used pieces of tissue paper to demonstrate how the wind caused the fire spread quickly. Using pieces of paper, they also showed how gunpowder was used to blow up some of the houses to cause a firebreak, as instructed by the Duke of York. As one of the houses were ‘blown up’ the child put their paper down to show that there was nothing for the fire to spread to.
