It’s Easter Time At Eastbrook

As the countdown to the Easter holiday begins the children in Reception are having an egg-cellent time learning all about the Christian celebration of Easter. They have learned about the story of Jesus Christ and how Christians celebrate Easter by going to church services, giving gifts, and having special meals. The children were about to relate this to their own celebrations as they discussed the similarities and differences to their own faiths.

There has been lots of craft fun in the provision, making Easter bunnies and cards for our families and friends. On Thursday the children received a parcel from the Easter bunny with a hot cross bun treat and a riddle. They had to look out for a blue clue. later that day the children found a blue envelope that explained the children had to look for 8 numbered envelopes and work out the clue to find the Easter treat!

The children worked so well together finding the clues and solving the puzzle by putting the sentence together and reading it to find the Easter treat in their math’s shed. It was great to see the children’s proud and excited faces as they solved the Easter bunny’s quest. On Friday the class had a cooking surprise as they make chocolate nests for their families and themselves. It was a great way to finish their hard-working term!
