The children in Reception really have been developing their resilience and showing their virtue of perseverance in the outside garden. The goal they had set themselves was to build a den from bed sheets and pegs. They came up with some very inventive ideas to create these dens, asking to move tables and chairs and connect them to the climbing frame. It was so great to see the children working as a team, communicating their ideas and supporting each other with the tricky pegs and clips.
They were able to reflect on the method of trial and error with this task with nobody giving up or being disappointed. The children were able to laugh together when pieces fell down on a peg pinged off.
