Cooking up some Perfect Pancakes!

Year 3  pupils turned into chefs this afternoon and made some pancakes. Firstly, they learnt why people eat pancakes on Shrove Tuesday –  to mark the beginning of the Christian period of Lent.

Next they were able to accurately measure out the ingredients, eggs, flour, milk and whisk them together. They very carefully cooked their pancakes and then they decorated them! There was lemon juice, syrup, sugar, raisins, chocolate chips and marshmallows to choose from!

The children said that they tasted delicious and were even better when the chocolate chips melted into the soft, warm pancake batter! Mr. Hollows and Mr. Pasterfield had some too and stated they were ‘superbly cooked!’ An amazing effort in the kitchen, well done Year 3!
