Today marked the first session of a whole half term of Years 5 & 6 working with Jonny Walker of Otherwiseeducation on an exciting project exploring Ancient Greek mythology in the context of the epic poem, The Iliad.

As part of a fun packed and wonderfully informative afternoon, Year 6 explored the Ancient Greek stories surrounding their beliefs about the origins of the world and the gods who created it. Mixed in with some epic roleplay (even Mr Peake had the chance to demonstrate his acting prowess!) the children took part in some wonderful learning and picked up so much contextual knowledge about the time period of the Iliad – the focus text of the next few weeks.

All of the children and staff were enthralled by what they saw today and are really excited for next week’s session.
