A Rocking Science Lesson

Pupils in year 3 started their new Science topic of ‘Rocks’ today. The children looked at a variety of man-made and natural rocks including chalk, limestone, quartz, bricks, slate, sandstone and concrete. They held the rocks and described them using adjectives such as; heavy, gritty, spiky, coarse, smooth, dusty, flaky and many more.

Later on during the lesson, the children worked in groups to categorise images of rocks into man-made or natural in a t-chart. The children were eager to learn and cannot wait for their next rocking Science lesson!
