Today, Year 1 opened their current IPC topic, ‘Brainwave’, by learning all about the most important organ in their body-the brain. This afternoon, they investigated what the brain looks like, where it is located in the body and how extremely fragile it is. The squishing of jelly helped them to discover how essential the hard bones of the skull are to protect the delicate organ. Year 1 now know how important it is to keep their brains safe and healthy to keep their bodies working well. The children are very much looking forward to using their own clever brains to learn more about how the brain works in the coming weeks.
