Air Force

In Science, we have been learning about the effect air can have on an object. We have learnt that forces can cause an object to move or to stop. On that basis, we decided to test whether air can help or hinder our paper planes from flying. We pushed our paper planes with the force from our arms into the wind and surprisingly it flew in a very uncoordinated manner, they didn’t get very far. The children tried this three times to test the accuracy of the findings. After that, the children threw their paper planes and used the wind as an additional force to help the paper plane fly. The difference in movement was quite visible. With the force from the air, our paper planes were able to fly a lot further. The children used trundle wheel to measure and record the distances that their paper planes covered. Finally, we had a competition to decide on the best wind assisted flight, it was close!
